About Cody Landress-Gibson
Cody Landress-Gibson is a Chattanooga, Tennessee-based singer-songwriter whose music lives at the intersection of Appalachian roots music and the punk-rock DIY ethos that has shaped nearly two decades of his life as a musician.
Raised in the Piedmont of the Appalachian Mountains, Landress-Gibson began writing and releasing music at 16 while playing in a punk band in North Georgia. Over the years, he has performed throughout the Southeast in projects spanning punk rock, string band music, and American roots traditions, eventually finding his way back to the storytelling and sounds that have long surrounded him.
Drawing from alt-country, old-time, folk, Americana and punk, Landress-Gibson writes unvarnished songs about living, loving and getting by in Appalachia. His music pairs the storytelling traditions of roots music with the independence, urgency and lack of pretense of his punk-rock beginnings.
His forthcoming album, Music To Get By On, is his second independent release.
